How About Considering Chiropractic Care for Orthotics?



The need for Orthotic treatment arises when a person experiences an injury caused by stroke attack or accidents. Orthotics is a specialized field of medicine in which all the aspects of orthoses is concerned like its design and manufacture as well as its application. Orthoses are generally devices, which are applied externally on the patient for the benefit
of the patient who has suffered a structural or a functional anomaly in the neuromuscular or the skeletal systems. The process of application, treatment and the management of the same is usually conducted by the Orthotist. The need for orthotic treatment may arise when any part of the body is affected by a misaligned structural or skeletal system. Hence, there are many types of Orthotic treatment and each of them need to be customized with precision as per the patient’s requirement.

Orthoses of the Lower limb: The term Orthosis is quite wide, especially with regard to the lower limb and it includes, the knee, ankle and foot. When it concerns the correction of foot postures, irregular or abnormal walking patterns, knee joints, ankle –foot joint, the orthortic treatment for the same includes the designing of customized orthoses for the affected area. 

Orthoses of the Upper Limb: Treatment of the upper limb includes the hands, arms, upper back and lower back, spinal cord and various other joints on the upper part of the body. For each of these Precision Custom Orthotic treatment is mandatory. 

Today with the awareness and acceptance of alternate forms of medical treatment gaining popularity, the role of Chiropractic treatment of such disorders has become very significant as it has been found to be a very effective form of treatment. Parts of the body affected by misaligned structural or skeletal system, disorders caused by vehicular accidents and mishaps at the workplace is very effectively treated with Chiropractic care for orthotics. This is a simpler process as there is no hospitalization required nor are there any after effects of the chiropractic treatment procedure.
